Lyrics

"Kith and Kin" from "They Will Cower While We Thrive"
in between moments we found it acceptable, tossing and turning at night, just to find that colder side. how sobering it is to know nothing at all.

*Meaning: wrote this in response to my insomnia and how i could never sleep well with a girlfriend or any other person at my side at night

"Domestication" from "They Will Cower While We Thrive"
a step outside the door to make a difference, merely diluted- all remains the same. sink into similar abodes.

*Meaning: moving somewhere new in your life. rather it be a new town, new house, or new friend, lover, etc. it may seem horrible or it may seem amazing, but you must go with it, sometimes we can not control it all.

"Signals-Sent-Straight" from "They Will Cower While We Thrive"
words sketch crooked footprints in the sand, behind, not besides me. just be up front for once.

*Meaning: about religion. a parallel to the christ's footsteps in the sand story of how he will carry you. i do not believe in religion, and this is my testament to that.

"Themes" from "They Will Cower While We Thrive"
we cant save them, their heads are stuck in the sand.

*Meaning: main theme from the album and concept. people have problems that they try to avoid by sticking their heads in the sand or covering over with various distractors when they really need to just stand up, and fight whatever may be bothering them.

"In Oceans We're Armless" from "They Will Cower While We Thrive"
limbs reach as far as they can but its never far enough for you. once we were told we can do anything, now we're left high and dry. abandoned our young hopes and dreams afloat in the sea. in deserts we're harmless, in oceans we're armless.

*Meaning: about the transition of teenage to adulthood, a cry from the child to the parent who both see things differently. the whole world is not possible anymore- it is what you have put so far into it and so will be the future. we are basically fucked from birth to live a life we may choose or not.

"An Account of Your Absence..." from "4 Way Split"
i knew a man once, watched lightning strike twice the same place...went home that night, the door was locked...walked in the same circle he's been circling. i knew a man once, upon a time. walk around a city dead for long enough, someone is bound to notice.

*Meaning: realizing that you no matter how special you may be to someone, or you are still susceptible, as a human, to flaw and reason, and should be aware of consequences of vanity, selfishness, and causing pain upon others you "love."

"Shining Through Soil" from "4 Way Split"
reciting post cards: both received and sent by myself. but maybe i'm mistaken? that's why my arms are shaking. you can not change what you did not create, this is our sun, we won't let it fade away.

*Meaning: this relates to "an account...", you may have done things before that you are now just realizing things you have done before, desirable or not, and while some of can redeem ourselves, some can not. we all, regardless, must take what we did and live with it, move forward.

"Sanctuary" from "Made Us Who We Are"
you once found sanctuary here, a safe haven from all your failures. (tbd) you won't find any mercy here, in my arms which thou once laid, you forget, it was so long ago and now we're protected by our stand-by's and night skies. the one thing that remains the same- the trees are above but the water below us.

*Meaning: you may relied on someone or someplace at one point, but the world changes, people change, but some things do not change- and you can put your faith in these things, not false prophets nor emotions.

"Thirty Fathoms Behind Us" from "Made Us Who We Are"
To be determined/finished.

*Meaning: finding ones' self. . .
