Birth of a baby Osterii

Osterii (pronounced: AH-STIR-EYE ) was conjured up about 2 years ago my best friends Nick Hertzberg and Tim Pringle. The band was then titled "Understaffed Orchestra" and was a screamo/electronic hybrid. They had new friend Tony Jaber come in on bass guitar for this band. After a few shows of playing, they decided a computer was not good enough and enlisted Ryan Mortola to drum for them. Sick of the "tough guy/hardcore" scene NJ developed into- they decided to start playing original music they loved- and Osterii was born. First show as the band "Osterii" was played February 2008 and they have played in 3 states and almost 30 shows since then. They bring a very energetic yet down to earth style to the stage, frequently describing song meanings before being played. The band is very and hopes to be more proficient. They self-released a 5 song 100 copy EP entitled "<They Will Cower While We Thrive" in June of 2008 with help's of Sire Press of Philadelphia on artwork/duplication, Colin Jordan of The Boiler Room in Chicago Mastering and Nick Hertzberg handling all recording in his home studio. Many stylistic changes since back then and new material is being written as we speak. A SPLIT CD with four best friends bands are in the works for Winter 08/09 to be followed up by a Full Length, "Made Us Who We Are" in Summer 2009, to be followed by touring and touring. Nick also plays in That Fellow and our sister Ezra Joyce. Please check them out, come out to a show, book the band- they will play anywhere, preferably for new people in new/cramped spaces. LOOKING for a Record Label/More Distribution to release the new album as well. Watch out for new material soon and check out Osterii on all the sites listed on this page!!
